The Community Edition

is a newspaper that seeks to engage the diverse people of Waterloo Region in a fair, thought-provoking and engaging way. It tries to give a voice to the minor and major problems experienced in our local community (and far beyond). After having been interviewed by its editor in chief Harleen Kaur Dillon at a 50by30 Climate Action event in Waterloo in September 2021, she has been providing much editorial support to my monthly column that addresses a variety of current themes. Most of them offer some personal reflection that is meant to encourage others to more fully embrace the diversity of our society, to develop a deeper kind of respect for the views and experience of others, and to open up and tell their own stories.
